GOFAMINT Mushin Ignites Hope: 110 Youth Empowered in Honour of Papa Abina at 90

Pst.(Dr) E.O Abina (G.O THE GOSPEL FAITH MISSION INT'L ) Giving his speech

In celebration of Papa Elijah Abina’s 90th Birthday Thanksgiving, GOFAMINT Mushin District made a powerful statement of faith in action—empowering 110 youth and artisans with practical tools to build a better future and fulfill their God-given purpose.

Papa Abina, the beloved General Overseer of The Gospel Faith Mission International (GOFAMINT), began ministry at tender age in Iwaya and, by God’s grace, has led the church after his Pa Goerge the first G.O of the mission from its humble beginnings to a mission field that touches the world. His unwavering passion to see lives transformed, especially through youth empowerment, continues to inspire a new generation to rise in faith, diligence, and impact.

On June 29, 2025 @ Gofamint Mushin District Church 22/24 Oduntan-Ofada Mushin Lagos, that vision bore new fruit as 100 students received financial support for their education and 10 artisans were equipped with sewing machines and other trade tools during the district’s first-ever Youth Empowerment Programme.

Pst. Taiwo S. Olaiya

This historic programme was pioneered by the District Pastor of GOFAMINT Mushin, Pastor Taiwo Stephen Olaiya, a true visionary who carried the burden to see young people lifted out of helplessness. He was fully supported by pastors in the district, the youth, and their leaders—proving that the Gospel is at its best when the family of God works as one.

The event drew youth from various assemblies across Mushin District: Divine Favour, Oshodi, Mafoluku, Kekereowo, Igbeyinadun, Ijesha and more—each participant a testament that God’s love meets both spiritual and practical needs.

📖 “My people perish for lack of knowledge…” — Hosea 4:6

In his stirring keynote titled “Education Is Not a Scam – The Real Scam Is Staying Ignorant,” Pastor Olaiya dismantled the rising belief among young people that education no longer pays, declaring:

“Education is God’s ladder out of poverty and stagnation. Jesus grew in wisdom and so must we.”

Referencing Moses, Apostle Paul, and modern heroes like Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, he reminded the youth that knowledge sharpens destiny and opens doors no man can shut.

Papa Abina, who graced the event with his fatherly presence, released heartfelt blessings upon the youth, the district, and every hand that made the programme possible:

“The source of your provision will not run dry. You will move from strength to strength.”

Pastor Olaiya spoke deeply about what drives him:

“Each time I see young people struggling for fees or tools, I’m reminded that Jesus didn’t just preach; He fed the hungry and met needs. Our calling must do the same.”

Adding more fire to the charge, Dr. Oladapo urged the youth to pursue greatness despite humble beginnings:

“Don’t let your background push you to the ground. What you refuse to pursue, you cannot possess. Put God first!”

Engineer Nathaniel Olanipekun, one of the guest sponsors, shared moving testimonies of lives transformed by similar support, reminding everyone that what they build today must become a legacy for tomorrow.

🙌 Kingdom Impact in Action

The programme concluded with the distribution of practical tools, but the greatest gift was the shift in mindsets. Dreams were reignited, faith restored, and a new generation commissioned to combine godliness, diligence, and lifelong learning to break free from ignorance.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Akinrinlola gave thanks:

“Education is not a scam but a gift from God. We thank our District Pastor, Pastor Olaiya, for his vision; our General Overseer, Papa Abina, for his fatherly blessing; and all the pastors, sponsors, youth leaders and members who believed in us. We will not disappoint you—or God.”

As the world honours a man whose life has been poured out for the Gospel, the Mushin District reminds us that the Gospel is not just preached but lived. From humble Iwaya to the global stage, Papa Abina’s story proves that with faith and unity, small beginnings can become worldwide impact.

✝️ Receive Jesus, rise in purpose, and pass the baton. The future begins with a willing heart and a step of faith.
